Summary: The following research is part of an effort to better understand a specific territory: the
Village of Regência Augusta, located on the right mouth of the Rio Doce in Espírito
Santo. The study is based on the identification of three key elements, namely,
festivities, food and the common. Based on fieldwork, bibliographic and documentar
reviews, among other methodologies, we seek to elaborate a narrative of the territory
in question from its colonization undertaken in the XIX century to the present day. In
order to develop a deeper study, we reflect on the world we live in, dealing with
production relationships at a global level and how Regência Augusta is inserted in this
context and how this is reflected in the Productions of their traditional festivals, their
food and social relantionships based on the common.
Keywords: festivities; food; common; Regência Augusta.
